Sorry to be blunt, but George Will has pissed me off with his intellectual-sounding bullshit today.

I often get a bit irritated at right wing commentators. But I TRY to read George Will more dispassionately, because he built some goodwill with me during George Bush-1 by honestly acknowledging weaknesses in Republican positions - he appeared much more credible due to honesty at that time.

But then with Clinton and Bush-II he reverted to high-fallutin big-word-usin Republican lapdog, in my view.

And today he Really pissed me off.

The problem today:

George Will joined the Republican Attack machine against Cindy Sheehan, and to people like me he made a complete ASS of himself with smart-sounding pure bullshit:

In trying to create the FALSE impression that Sheehan is MORE SHRILL than high profile Republicans, Will used a very cagey phrase that is transparently an attempt to Bullshit the casual reader - He said “a shrillness unlike anything heard, in living memory, from a major tendency within a major party”.

WTF is “a major tendency within a major party”? Will KNOWS that the spinwits like Limbaugh and Hannity and Coulter and O’Reilly etc have ALL accused Sheehan of being, in effect, a traitor to America and I guess a sympathiser with terrorists. I CANNOT IMAGE more shrill accusations than the accusations uttered by the major unoffical voices of the Republican Party.

But Will cannot trash Sheehan effectively if he is honest about the absurb rantings of the looney spinwits. And so he has to carefully craft a bullshit phrase to give him the right to say “I excluded the radio lunatics from my comparison”.

YES, he DID exclude the radio lunatics from his comparison.

And by so excluding the most outrageous crap from the radio idiots, Will then proceeded to attempt to trash Sheehan by comparing HER to the carefully crafted statements of the OFFICIAL Republican spokepeople.

And therein is the complete illogical idiocy of the Will propaganda effort. Will is to be commended ONLY for the sophistication of his utter bullshit.

It takes a LOT of writing to try to explain to people how sophisticated bullshit operators like Will work. George Will worked HARD on this piece of bullshit, and KNEW what he was doing. He deserves to be called on it.

(Oh, by the way, you Don’t need to accuse me of playing the same game sometimes. I TRY not to! But I am sure some of my writings, the briefer ones anyway, might be attackable. It isn’t intentional when I pull the same crap, and I’m open to discussion about my writings, and sometimes I go back and revise stuff when it comes to my attetnion as too unfair. )
