FreeRepublic: The Fossil Fallacy: Creationists’ demand for “missing links”
Posted in Category: Science vs Religion

I found an interesting thread over at the FreeRepublic site (like DailyKOS but leans right in its activism).

Evolution is being discussed, intelligently. The blurb below is from a poster who is explaining WHY the Freepers WANT to have intelligent discussions about evolution —– to dispell the notion that right wingers are flat earthers who want to return us to the dark ages.

He’s right - that’s the way left-leaners view the right-leaners.

I sure wish the conservative movement would divorce itself from the religious right - the religious right carries so much baggage with it that the real conservative message is automatically dismissed by huge blocks of the electorate.

The best society would borrow the best ideas from the major parties, fearlessly. But if Dems borrow Repub ideas, or vice versa, we get called traitors to our parties.

Thanks to the Freepers for a lesson in reality - right wingers are intelligent sentient beings after all, despite appearances

The Fossil Fallacy: Creationists’ demand for “missing links”: “Second, the purpose of these threads is to counter the dems’ propaganda that all conservatives are ignorant flat-earthers. That’s what it’s all about. If the dems can ever frame the debate so it’s them against the Dark Ages, we’re going to lose. Those who don’t know what I’m talking about are part of the problem.”
