The theocratic extremists have so trashed judges, that judges are feeling unsafe. This phenomenon pushes us a little closer to a third world-type setting, in which judges are retaliated against for not ruling in the right way. And this breaks down society’s respect for law.

The process of degeneration is happening here folks, although it’s not yet very far along in the process. And the current culprits are the theocrats and the Republican leadership and the talk radio propagandists.

The excerpt below is from the testimony of the Chicago Federal Judge whose husband and mother were murdered, and who has endured numerous serious death threats, when she appeared before Congress to discuss security for judges.

In her remarks, she stated the obvious (ignored by our theocratic leaders) — When leaders trash judges as being evil, they are inciting the unstable elements of society to commit murder (RM’s interpretation of her remarks).

And she commented on how Pat Robertson claimed judges were more dangerous than terrorists (an absolutely bizarre lunatic irresponsible statement by Robertson). But Robertson will still be welcome to appear as a guest on the biggest radio and tv shows anytime. (By the way: When did it become the norm for big-time TV and Radio networks to give prominent display to the most outrageous extremists? For example, David Duke never got to be a big shot media celebrity, and neither did Lyndon Larouche, but Pat Robertson gets to, and Glenn Beck gets to, and Michael Savage gets to, and Ann Coulter gets to, etc …. )

Senator Obama then stated the obvious: We don’t want to become like a third world country where ourt judges get murdered. When the judicial system breaks down, we have lawlessness.

This whole insane debate is a reflection of the excesses of the theocratic movement and their thirst for power, aided by the right wing propagandists whe will say almost anything to sugar coat whatever Republicans do and trash whatever Democrats do.

Jon Stewart said it all when he said our degenerate propagandists are “hurting America”.

It’s so very sad that reasonable people have not yet risen up and demanded that the national debate return to civility and respect for opposing points of view. And stop the propaganda.

Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition and head of the Christian Broadcasting Network, appeared on ABC’s “This Week'’ earlier this month and criticized the federal courts.

“Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that’s held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings,'’ Robertson had said.

In her testimony today, Lefkow said, “Whether liberal or conservative, I have never encountered a judge in the federal judiciary who can remotely be described as posing a threat ‘probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings.”’

When the judicial system is threatened, Obama said, we “degenerate as a society into lawlessness.” Referring to judicial assassinations in countries such as Colombia, Obama said threats in the U.S. have not reached that level, “but we shouldn’t even get close to that point.”
