Pat Robertson, the religious leader, does not understand how judges are ethically bound to decide legal issues. For some reason, Robertson believes that judges should not decide legal issues using time-honored legal reasoning, but instead should decide cases based on their religious faith or adherence to the Republican political philosophy. At least that’s how it seems to me. Robertson isn’t the only one pushing for such a twisted type of judging. Listen to all the right wing spinwits - they all say the same thing - and it’s a disgrace to our judicial heritage. Such an attitude causes the public to view judges as something other than judges. The public is being encouraged to see the role of the judge as some kind of moral or religious or political protector, who decides cases based on how his Leader feels he should decide them.
