Here’s a little bit different take on the anti-theocracy movement, from Sun Myung Moon’s Washington Times, the favorite newspaper of the Republican spinwits such as Limbaugh - Hannity - Coulter - Liddy - Savage - Beck - Ingraham, etc. In the excerpt below, The Wash Times is introducing a story about an anti-theocracy conference. We see how the Headline (”Left aims to …”) introduces some bias into the story, because the anti-theocracy movement is comprised of people all across the spectrum. Then the bias is completed by the lead paragraphs referring to the participants as “Secular humanists and leftist activists”. And so, the article has not yet reported any news, but has already passed judgment against the participants, tarring and feathering them by dimissing them as “secular humanists” and “leftists”. The religious leaders at the conference were certainly not secular humanists. I doubt they were leftists, whatever the hell the newpaper meant by using the leftist label. I am not a leftist, but I am all on board the anti-theocracy movement. I am not a secular humanist, whatever the hell that is, but I am all on board the anti-theocracy movement. And so the religious people who read the Wash Times get a false impression of the anti-theocracy movement. They think we are all satanists or communists or something. I guess that’s what the Wash Times editors intend. Do a search on RadMod for Moon to read more about this stuff, or see my Theocracy Category of articles.

Secular humanism is an ethical philosophy or life stance that emphasizes a humanist world view based upon naturalism.
“Secular humanism” is distinguished from the broader “humanism” in that the secular humanist prefers free inquiry over received wisdom—upholding the scientific method for inquiry, while rejecting “revealed knowledge” and theistic morality. Secular humanism has appeal to atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, rationalists, skeptics, and materialists. Its basic tenets may be simplified as:
* Humans have value and can solve human problems
* Science, free speech, rational thought, democracy, and freedom in the arts go together
* There is nothing supernatural
