I’m sorry to see that even the NyTimes is referring to the Republican US Senate as trying to impose theocracy in one form or another. Usually the NyTime does not use extreme rhetoric, even though they espouse liberal views on their editorial pages. So I guess the NyTimes no longer considers it extreme to refer to the Republican Party as supporting theocracy, at least as regards to appointing judges who (the Republicans think) might uphold theocratic principles and laws. The “T” word is entering common discourse.
