Cheney hunting accident story is not important

I feel like being a little too curmudgeonly, and I don’t appreciate the humor in the hunting accident. The USA, and mayve the world, is having a great deal of fun with Dick Cheney over his unfortunate accident this past weekend, where he shot his hunting companion with birdshot.

It’s SO easy to make fun of Cheney over this unfortunate accident, that it seems rude to actually do so. Accidents happen. Accidents can happen to anyone. The Cheney accident has no meaning for the gun debate. We already know that gun accidents can happen, no one has ever denied that.

Let’s move on and remind ourselves of the important stuff, and wait for the official inquiry to occur on the Cheney matter. 3 more important stories:

A nuclear Iran is unacceptable. But there is great dispute about what it means that Iran may be enriching uranium. We are skeptical of Bush - he is not Reliable when talking about War issues. We doubt everything Bush says, we demand proof.

Private foundations stepping up to try to help kids prevent obesity. Ever see the junk that the schools feed our kids in this day of tight money? God, I hated school lunches in the Sixties, but looking back we ate SO Well and Balanced compared to the junk today. Childhood obesity is a much bigger problem than we might realize.
