Here’s two quick hits: The first shows that 20 million single women don’t vote, and would be solidly Democratic if they did vote. The second quick hit indicates what I’ve always thought, that a lot of Christians would vote Dem but for abortion. They’ve been convinced that it’s a religious imperative to vote Republican. But with Alito and Roberts on the Supreme Court, the word on the street is that Roe is doomed. When Roe goes away, so does the Religious Imperative to vote Republican. Christians can’t easily justify voting for Republicans except over abortion. The tenets of Christian charity and mercy and peace are expressed more in the policies of the Democratic party than the policies of the Republican party. Jesus would be anti-death penalty, anti-war, pro-social programs, etc… The moral imperative might shift.
But young singles don’t vote anyway, and never have been particularly interested in the process. So who else could the Dems get? How about the Christian vote that goes to the Republicans over the abortion issue? …. see below
