Orrin Hatch insults America while impersonating Hannity. The Iraq turd can’t be shined, and Repubs are desperate.
Posted in Category: Politics-misc

Orrin Hatch, Republican Senator from Utah, says terrorists are laying low waiting for Democrats to take control, then they’ll attack again. Hatch impersonates Hannity! Does anyone with half a brain listen to such bullshit from Republican leaders anymore? … Desperate ravings from those who want to shine the turd that is Iraq.

From the Salt Lake City Tribune: Hatch says terrorists are waiting for Democrats to take control: ——-

Hatch was quoted in Tuesday’s Tooele Transcript Bulletin as saying Middle East terrorists are “waiting for the Democrats here to take control, let things cool off and then strike again.”

Democrats are criticizing Hatch for what they see as “ridiculous” partisan hyperbole.

“There they go again trying to use smear and fear to win in November,” said Stacie Paxton, spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee.

While Hatch now says he does not recall making the reported statement to the Tooele newspaper, it would not be the first time he tied terrorist action to Democrats seeking office.

During the 2004 presidential election, Hatch suggested al-Qaida members wanted Democratic challenger John Kerry to defeat President Bush.

To any right-side wingnuts reading this: Your leaders are insulting America when they throw around such disgraceful insults. Your leaders bring disrepute on our political system and make us laughingstocks in the eyes of the world. Few thinking persons (outside of your committed Party faithful) respect your Party for chanting rubbish like “Democrats Hate America”, “Dems are traitors” “Purge the Liberals”, etc.

Democrats want the war on terror fought legally, by a President and Congress and Military that follows the law. Republicans do not agree.

We Dems reject dictators. Republicans nowadays do not seem to mind a little bit of dictatorship.

Republicans are so desperate to try to shine the Iraq turd that they have become like banshees, screaming out the most vile insults against anyone who might dare to disagree.

The more the Republicans perceive that the American people are smelling the shitstorm that is Iraq, the louder and more extreme are the insults thrown at Democrats by the Republicans. Jeez, people, the Republicans control everything! Yet, to listen to Republicans, it’s actually the Democrats who are in control.

Democrats have shown themselves to be the party of personal liberty and the party that is most interested in protecting our American system of government as embodied in the Constitution.

We oppose some of Bush’s “anti terror” activities because the activities appear to be illegal. The activites do not appear authorized by any of the laws governing such activities. Whereas the Republicans like to say “We’re a nation of laws”, they become hypocrites when faced with a George Bush decision to ignore the laws. On the issue of Bush’s power, the Republicans do not seem to think Bush should have to follow the law. That’s the equivalent of condoning dictatorship.

We refuse to take Bush’s word for anything. We demand accountability and oversight from Congress. We demand a judge scrutinize warrant applications. We demand that dragnet-type wiretaps be done legally.

This President has lied to us so much that he lacks credibility. We don’t trust him at all. We refuse to take his word for anything. We refuse to let him be a dictator. We share his interest in defeating terrorism, but we don’t agree with his methodology.

Democrats say “Let’s debate changes to the laws”. If the President wants a new power, he needs to come to Congress, and let Congress design a law with appropriate protections for civil liberties, and other measures to achieve accountability.

We need a President who follows the laws. And we need a Congress that holds a President accountable. Shame on Bush and the Republican Congress.

Shame on Hatch for his Hannity impression.

Are there any Conservative Republicans who are statesmen? Statesmen are politicans who speak in respectful tones about their opponents, who refuse to stoop to gutter insults, who try to bring honor to the political profession rather than disgrace. There’s got to be a few, but I can’t think of who they might be. McCain isn’t a conservative.
