James Carville makes a DailyKOS diarist ill, and I tend to agree
Posted in Category: Propaganda-Media

I’ve disliked James Carville as a Democratic spokesman ever since I heard him at a fundraiser about 6 years ago declare that Republicans “love babies until they’re born”.

He disgusted me with that kind of rhetoric. At the time, I had already become disgusted with similar rhetoric from Limbaugh and others on the Republican side.

We have to try to elevate the discourse somehow.

It’s bad for us all when we dumb-down the debate. I recall Limbaugh talking about his perception that our public educational system tends to dumb-down the lessons. That was a good point. But at the same time, I thought Limbaugh was dumbing-down the political debate with his name-calling and broad-stroked insults.

Carville does what Limbaugh does, and I don’t like it from either of them.

Daily Kos: James Carville makes me ill, this week was the final straw

I believe our already imprecise message is further defiled and weakened when the messenger is someone like James Carville. He can yell and scream, that doesn’t make him believable. IMO, it makes him a silly caricature. I’ve always felt a combination of disgust and bemusement seeing this Barnum & Bailey on the talk circuit. My outrage percolated to the surface over the last few days.

For Carville, it’s a gig–and it shows. A money-making gig for him and many other Talking Dems. And frankly, our problems are too catastrophic (ask Katrina survivors or Medicare D recipients without drugs, or maimed Iraq veterans) to have spokespeople who have so commercialized the human suffering which is rampant across our once great nation.

I suppose Mr. Carville has just done what any good American does. Since he’s married to a right wing dirtbag, they decided early on how to make $$$$ from their unseemly coupling. He can marry whomever he wants, but I draw the line with him as a spokesperson. I dare say many Americans feel the same way, when he comes on TV with bogus crocodile tears and strutting his macho democratic/progressive bona fides. They pontificate from two ludicrious extremes, then I’m sure, go out and party like its 1999!
