Keith Olbermann (MSNBC) calls out the President for his lies about the Iraq sales pitch - Says “Who does the President think he’s F’n kidding?”

Do a search on RadMod for “Olbermann” to see more of how I respect Olbermann’s willingness to call-out those who shamelessly propagandize. In the past, Olbermann has called-out the Republican apologists in the media, like O’Reilly and Limbaugh.

Olbermann on 3-20-06 called-out the President, with the utmost unbelievable clarity, by saying “Who does the President think he’s F’n kidding?”

How refreshing for a major media figure like Olbermann to speak the truth to power. This kind of clarity is how we common folk speak when we talk about the government’s lies and propaganda, regardless of what our political persuasion might be.

The item that caused such a burst of exceptionally honest criticism from Olbermann was the President’s denial, 3-20-06, that he had linked Saddam to 9-11.

The president took unscripted questions (Oh my god, he did WHAT!?). And he probably won’t do it again for a long time. A questioner asked the President about how his three main arguments in favor of the Iraq war had all been proven false: WMDs, Saddam trying to buy nuclear material from Niger, and Saddam being connected to 9-11.

Bush: “First-just if I might correct a misperception, I don’t think we ever said, at least I know I didn’t say that there was a direct connection between September 11th and Saddam Hussein … I was very careful never to say that Saddam Hussein ordered the attacks on America..”

[Olbermann introduces a tape of the 2003 State of the Union speech] Olbermann: “Then that must have been a different George W. Bush who gave the State of the Union Address on January 28th, 2003.”

[Clip of SOTU 2003] Bush: “Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists… including members of al Qaeda…. Before September the 11th many in the world believed that Saddam Hussein could be contained.”

[Olbermann cuts back in:] “Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda in the same sentence separated by seven words. Sept. 11th and Saddam Hussein -two sentences later, separated by six words. “In a moment Craig Crawford joins me to discuss the fundamental remaining question. Who does the President think he’s F’n kidding?”
